Master Thieve Tom “Amraphenen” Willard Jr. was born in the city of New (Insert city name here) to the house of Willard on a cold, calm, cloudy morning of the twenty-ninth day of the eleventh month of the (insert year here) year. He would be the 5th son to Lord Tom Willard Sr. and sadly the only son to live past his first year of life. Lord Tom Willard Sr. was a very wealthy merchant that hailed from across the eastern sea from the land of (insert name of land here). After the birth of Tom Willard Jr. Lord Willard left with his family to visit his homeland, but little the Willard family know, an unknown party had secretly switched young Tom Willard Jr. with an orphaned babe. The Willard’s did not notice that who they thought was young Tom Willard Jr. was actually some orphaned babe from the streets. The man who masterminded the switch was a master thief by the name of Boyd Ualan. He was believed to be commissioned by one of Lord Willard’s competitors but no one was ever quite sure who exactly paid the thief. Master Thief Ualan was then told to raise the boy as a thieve, hoping that one day they could use Lord Willard’s own son against him, the ultimate revenge. A few years later, Master thief Ualun was murdered by a fellow thieve in a dispute over a woman and Tom was now left alone in the city only at the age of four. After one and a half years, Tom was picked up by a rising master thief, Dominos Bates, who noticed the boy pick pocking in the streets of the city. The boy was good, so Mater Thief Bates decided to take Tom into his guild of thieves. The only hint Master thief Bates had to the identity of the boy was a key with the engraving “For Tom.” Master thief bates decided to keep this and give it to tom later on when he was older. This key is a family heirloom given to the first born of the Willard family upon birth, usually worn around the neck at young ages. When young Tom was switched with a false babe, the false babe had a similar necklace but it wasn’t a copy. It is believed that the unknown party wanted the key for whatever it opened but Master Thief Ualan kept it to himself, telling his superiors that it was lost during the switch. There are some theories that Ualan was murdered by his superiors for failing on that part. But this information was never proven with hard evidence so the world will never know exactly who or what was behind the switching of Tom Willard Jr. As the boy grew up, the key and his name were forgotten. His fellow thieves gave him the name “Amraphenen” which comes from Amraphe or “Melds with Shadows” in thieve terms. He also became quite the knife thrower. He beat ever guild mate in dart contests over the years. He eventually started using shuirkens also, liking the smaller size and quickness he could throw them at. Once he became a full fleldged thief, Bates started using him on guild runs, and even solo thieving runs. On one job, a fellow thieve and Tom had a big job to steal from one of the more powerful men in the city. Tom’s companion got caught by the powerful man’s thugs and ended up giving toms name in. Bates decided that it wasn’t safe for Amrphenen anymore and told him to get out of the city and head west to Medine. Bates told him to look up his cousin, a farmer in those parts. Unknowing to Amraphenen, Bates packed the Family key in his bags with a note telling him what it was, at least to Master Bates knowledge. He traveled away from the town for many weeks and then ended up in the small town of Medine. He found and made friends with Bates farmer cousin, Jack Ouf. He worked for him on his farm and ended up running his shop in the town of Medine. Tom lived in the shop but also did some pick pocketing on the side, but just so he could live comfortable, eating nice food and going out for drinks every now and then. After a few months of working in the town, the famous bounty hunters, Honz and Fronz, caught up with him. They were not very interested in bringing him in cause for an easy prey as Tom, he wasn’t worth it. They told him that if he paid them a sum 500g, theyd turn around and forget about him. He had 350g saved up from what he brought with him, pick pocketing and working for farmer Ouf. Somehow, he needed to come up with 150 more gold…..
